Roatcap #121


The Roatcap Trail #121 begins at Forest Service Road #542.1B, Roatcap Spur B Road and ends at Forest Service Road #542, Roatcap Road. This trail travels along the Roubideau Bench for its entire length just skirting the outside of the Roubideau Area on the eastern side of the canyon. It stays at a pretty level grade for about the first 3 miles before gradually descending to FSR #542 in the last 0.9 miles.

Directions:

From Montrose: Travel west on Highway 90 for approximately 23 miles to the intersection with Forest Service Road #402, North Divide Road. Follow FSR #402 for approximately 1.7 miles to FSR #508, Transfer Road. Turn north on FSR #508 and continue for approximately 11 miles to FSR #542, Roatcap Road. Turn west onto FSR #542 and travel 0.6 miles to FSR #542.1B, Roatcap Spur B Road. Continue for approximately 0.5 miles to the end of the road where the trail begins.
