Rocky Pitch Loop #664


The Rocky Pitch Loop Trail #664 travels through sage flats and occasionally Ponderosa Pine stands mixed with sage.  A scenic overlook and picnic area are 2.5 miles from the Northern Trailhead.  The overlook provides a scenic view of Unaweep Canyon.  There are locations available for dispersed camping around the ponderosa pine stands.

Directions:

NORTHERN ACCESS:

At the intersection of Divide Road, FSR #402, and the Northern Forest Boundary there is a parking area on the right side. From the parking area, go through a metal-pipe gate in a log fence designed for ATV's/horses.

SOUTHERN ACCESS:

From the Forest Boundary, follow Divide Road, FSR #402 in a southwesterly direction for 1.6 miles.  There is a sign on the West side of FSE #402 which marks the southern trailhead of Rocky Pitch Gulch Trail #664
