East Brush Creek #504


The East Brush Creek Trail #504 is part of a system of ATV trails that provide access to the Battlement Mountains.  The trail travels up the East Brush Creek drainage through open meadows and mixed spruce/fir and aspen stands to its intersection with the Battlement Trail #527 on the crest of the Battlement Mountains.

Directions:

LOWER ACCESS:

Travel east from the Plateau Creek Bridge in Collbran on Highway 330 approximately 6.2 miles to its intersection with the 64.3 Road.  Turn left (north) onto the 64.3 Road and travel 4.1 miles to the Grand Mesa National Forest Boundary.  At this location the 64.3 Road becomes Brush Creek Road, FSR #272.  Continue north on Brush Creek Road for an additional 2.2 miles to the trailhead and staging area for the Brush and East Brush Creek Trailheads.  From the Brush Creek Lower Trailhead, travel an additional 0.55 miles up the Brush Creek Trail to the East Brush Creek Lower Trailhead. 

The lower trailhead for the Brush Creek Trail is located adjacent to the Brush Creek Cow Camp.  At this location there is a large meadow near the cow camp that provides plenty of room for parking trucks and trailers and for those wishing to camp. 

UPPER ACCESS:

The easiest access to the East Brush Creek Upper Trailhead is to travel up the East Brush Creek Trail itself.  However the trail can also be accessed by travelling up the Kimball Creek Trail  #532 for approximately 4.4 miles and then east on the Battlement Trail #527 approximately 9 miles to the East Brush Creek Upper Trailhead.
