Turkey Flats #661


The Turkey Flats Trail #661 is on Pinon Mesa, part of the Fruita Division.  It connects Forest Service Road #400 to the Reservoir #1 Trail #663.  At the beginning of the trail, it climbs gradually through an aspen stand and continues into spruce/fir.  You eventually enter a long meadow where the Turkey Flats Trail intersects the Haypress Trail #662.  Stay to the left as the trail will enter another aspen stand and eventually begin to climb again before ending at the intersection with the Reservoir - 1 Trail #663 .

EASTERN ACCESS:

Travel 16 1/2 Road south from the Glade Park Store past the Mud Springs Campground at 6.5 miles.  At 7.7 miles the JS Road forks to the left, remain on the right fork and travel to the Forest Boundary at 9.2 miles.  Continue past the Fruita Picnic Ground at 9.6 miles to the Turkey Flats Trailhead at 10.4 miles.
