Ewing Point Campsite
There is a beautiful walk-in campsite located on Ewing Point on the north side of the 132 acre McKeever Lake. The grassy site is 50 feet by 75 feet, surrounded by cedar and hemlock. A fire ring , fire grill, lantern post, and picnic tables are provided at the site. Drinking water must be carried in. Water is available at Pete's Lake Campground. A wilderness toilet is available. The lake bottom is sandy and provides good wading. Be cautious when swimming because this area has not been checked for possible hazards and you swim at your own risk. McKeever Lake is a good fishing lake for musky, pike, bass, and pan fish. Link to Map

General Information
Directions:From Munising drive east on M-28 to Wetmore. Turn right (south) on Highway 13 and drive 12.5 miles to FR 2173. Turn left (east) on 2173 and drive 2.3 miles to the boat launch. There is a 650 foot primitive trail leading west to the campsite.

Campground Camping

Lake and Pond Fishing
McKeever Lake is 132 acres and a good fishing lake for musky, pike, bass, and pan fish. There is a boat access on the lake.

Day Hiking
Bruno's Run Hiking Trail weaves throughout the Ewing Point area. The 9 mile trail is accessible at various locations, two of which are near the Ewing Point parking area. One trail section leads down to Grassy Lake; the other travels along the southeastern portion of McKeever Lake.

There is a boat access on McKeever lake at the parking area. Boats need to be carried by hand into the campsite itself or you can reach the campsite easily from the water. (Water is very shallow, large boats not recommended).Boating - Non-Motorized

Swimming
The lake bottom is sandy and provides good wading. Be cautious when swimming because this area has not been checked for possible hazards. Please remember you swim at your own risk. Lifeguards are not present. Children should be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times.
