Sand Lake Recreation AreaSand Lake Recreation Area is the only public access on this lake. The ownership around the lake is primarily private. The beach is sandy and clean, but further out the lake bottom becomes mucky. The lake is mostly shallow, with a few deeper areas. The campsites are open within the wooded area.

Directions:

From Manistee -

  • Travel east on M-55 for 19.5 miles.
  • Turn right and travel south on Snyder Rd. for 4 miles.
  • Turn right and travel west on FR 5728 for .5 miles.
  • The road terminates at the site.
