Holton Motorcycle Trail

OHV/ATV/Motorcycle Trails

13 miles of trail heading south from the trialhead cross and utilize roads and is only open to highway legal motorcycles. The 15 miles of trail heading north from the trailhead is open to both highway legal and nonlegal motorcycles. As visitors drive on the trial they will be surrounded by pine and oak forest with an understory of grass and ferns. The terrain will range from flat to rolling sandy hills.

This trail is shown on the Huron-Manistee National Forests Motor Vehicle Use Map, available in the Maps and Publications section. A map is also located on the MI-DNRE website.

Permit Info: Special Use Permit -
  • No special use permit is required for individuals or small groups (74 people or less).
  • Permits are required for commercial, event or large groups (75 people or more).
Visit the Passes and Permits section for more information on obtaining a special use permit. ORV Sticker - OHVs must display a valid ORV Sticker as required by State law. ORV Stickers may be obtained from the State of Michigan.

Directions:

From Muskegon -

  • Travel north on US-31 for 3 miles.
  • Turn right and travel northeast on M-120 for 9 miles.
  • Turn left and travel north on Holton-Duck Lake Rd. for 2 miles.
  • Turn left and travel west on Brunswick Rd. for 3.75 miles.
  • The site is located on the right.
