French Camp is located in the Rock Creek area of the White Mountain Ranger District midway between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes off US 395. This large campground has 86 campsites; campers are permitted to stay 21 nights.
At a Glance
Major reconstruction activities will be taking place on Rock Creek Road for the duration of the 2014 and 2015 seasons. While the road will remain open to traffic throughout the project, visitors may experience delays of up to 30 minutes. Additionally, at certain times, the road may need to be closed for longer periods of time, Monday through Friday.

Dogs on leash only. Maximum stay 21 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36"). Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.

America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes are accepted for half priced camping. Follow the instructions on the bulletin board at the campground.
From Bishop go north on Hwy 395 approximately 23 miles to Tom's Place. Turn southwest on Rock Creek Road and go approximately one mile to the campground on the right.
Restrooms may be accessible to wheelchairs with assistance.
