Reds Meadow Road is a narrow, single lane road. Only accessible in summer.
Pummice Flat Group Campground has four sites. Each site can accomodate 20 to 50 people. Sites have large fire ring, tables, and plenty of parking for larger vehicles. Reservations are requred.

||Campers may drive into Reds Meadow Valley; however shuttle fee applies. Active bear area, bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48"x 30"x 36").

Take US 395 to State Highway 203. Head west to and through the town of Mammoth Lakes. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Minaret and continue up the mountain past Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge and Minaret Vista Station.
Traveling in Bear Country
Historically, there has been a high level of bear activity at Pumice Flat Group Campground. A bear-proof locker is located at each site at Pumice Flat Group Campground. All food and scented items must be stored in the lockers. All trash must be disposed of in the bear proof trash receptacles. Do not store food, trash or scented items in your vehicle.
