McGee Creek Campground


Area Status: Closed

This 28 unit campground provides an excellent "close-to-the-trailhead" location to camp as a jumping off point for adventures in the McGee Canyon area or as a pleasant sunny location for family camping. Each campsite has a shade pavilion as there are few trees here. The campground is 2 miles from the trailhead and 4 miles from Crowley Lake.

Fees: $32.00 per night.
Usage: Light
Busiest Season: July-August
Restrictions: Dogs on leash only. Maximum stay 14 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended, bear boxes are provided and must be used  (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36").  Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.

Passes: America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes are accepted for half priced camping. Follow the instructions on the bulletin board at the campground.

General Information

Directions:

From Mammoth Lakes go south on US 395 for approximately 8 miles. Take the McGee Creek exit and follow the paved road about 2 miles to the campground on the left. Or, from Bishop go north on US 395 for about 37 miles. Take the McGee Creek exit and follow the paved road about 2 miles to the campground on the left.
