The Stuart Lake Campground is a primitive campground inside the Stuart Lake Recreation Complex and was renovated in 2009. There is an assortment of recreational opportunities at Stuart Lake including fishing, swimming, hiking, picnicking, and much more. Stuart Lake is a peaceful lake in an attractive wooded setting. The campground has 8 campsites, picnicking, swimming, fishing, drinking water, restrooms, two hiking trails available, and an open-air amphitheater. Trash disposal available.

Directions: From Alexandria, take U.S. Highway 167 north for 14 miles. Turn right (east) on Louisiana Hwy 8 and go 4 miles. Turn right (south) on Forest Road 144 and go 1 mile. The entrance is on the right and a fee station is just inside the campground.
