Wheeler Gorge Campground

Shady sites surrounded by rocky mountains. Stream runs through the campground. Recreational Vehicles and tent camping.

Wheeler Gorge Campground has 68 family campsites, 5 handicap accessible sites, and 6 double sites for larger groups. RV's maximum length is 35 feet. Each site contains a table, barbecue and fire ring.There is NO dump station or potable water at the campground. Please bring your own drinking water.

Campfires are allowed in fire rings. Bring your own firewood.

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends and a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. Maximum 2 vehicles per site. An additional fee will be collected on-site for second vehicle. No check-in after 10PM, security gate locked.

50 % of the campsites are reservable through www.recreation.gov and the other 50% are on a first-come, first-serve, walk up basis.

Campground Camping

Camping, fishing, hiking, waterplay. Wheeler Gorge Nature Trail starts at upper end of campground (8.5 miles from Ojai); Interpretive Saturday monring ranger talks at the Wheeler Gorge Visitor center from May through September. Visitor Center is open Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am - 3:00pm. Historic Ortega off-highway vehicle trail nearby.
