Sunshine Flat Trail #369
This shared use trail begins along the ridge top, and has many openings in the forest offering good views of the surrounding area. The trail goes through a couple of grassy clearings, dropping to the road becoming a bit harder to find again. Not maintained for ATV use.This trail is lightly used, and sees it's most use during big game hunting season. Carry water. Area burned in 1991 fire.

General Information
Directions:From the town of Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street. Follow South Main Street to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street, and follow past the local cemetary. The road then becomes County Road 62. Follow County Road 62 approximately approximately 13 miles to the junction with Forest Road 918 on the left. Follow Forest Road 918 for approximately 3 miles to the trailhead. This trail is also known as the Rail Creek Trail.

Mountain Biking
This short 3.7 mile trail makes a nice ride for anyone wishing to take a trip on their bicycle into stands of ponderosa pine and lodge pole pine. Riders can connect with other trails such as Horseshoe Trail #363 for a longer ride. Continue on the Horseshoe Trail to Forest Road 13, then travel down Forest Road 13 to the connection with Sheep Creek Trail #371. Follow Sheep Creek Trail back to the junction with Sunshine Flat Trail to create an approximately 13.7 mile long loop ride.
Hikers and horse riders use this trail, please be heads up when riding in the area.
Day Hiking
This trail is a great short hike for anyone looking to get out and enjoy beautiful ponderosa and lodge pole pines. Hikers will travel along the the 3.7 mile trail ending near the summit of Lookout Mountain.
Hikers can connect to other trails such as the Horseshoe Trail #363, hikers can travel another 6 miles through a forested area. Follow the trail to the junction with Forest Road 13, hikers can then travel south on Forest Road 13 approximately 2.5 miles to the connection with Sheep Creek Trail #371. By following the Sheep Creek Trail #371 west approximately 5.4 miles back to the connection with Sunshine Flat Trail. This allows hikers to do an approximately 17.6 mile hike.
This trail is used by horse and bicycle riders, please be prepared to share the trail.
Horse Riding
Horse riders have a wonderful opportunity to take a short ride along Sunshine Flat Trail #369. Enjoying the beautiful ponderosa and lodge pole pine trees. Other trails such as the Horseshoe Trail #363 and Sheep Creek Trail #371 allow for a long 17.6 mile loop trail.
Riders can extend their ride to one of the other two trails without making the loop and still enjoy beautiful scenery.
Towards the end of the Sunshine Flat Trail #369 riders will summit Lookout Mountain allowing riders to lookout towards Glacier Mountain enjoying the beautiful expanse between the two peaks.
Please use certified weed free hay, remember to take any unused hay when leaving.
