NOTICE: Forest offices scheduled to be closed temporarily for employee training
All Malheur National Forest offices will be adjusting their schedules on April 22 to accommodate the ability of their employees to attend mandatory training.
The Prairie City Ranger District in Prairie City and Emigrant Creek Ranger District in Hines will be closed for business all day on April 22.
The Supervisor’s Office in John Day will remain open for their normal business hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but only have the ability to sell forest products between the hours of 7:45 to 9:00 a.m., and again in the afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
We ask that you take this into consideration when needing to purchase forest products, such as maps and firewood permits. We appreciate your understanding.

This is a beautiful campground located on the banks of the Emigrant Creek. Easy fishing access allows for trout fishing right next to the campground. The campground's picnic area is a great site for family-friendly getaways and rarely fills. Please pack out what you pack in- no trash service is provided.

From Burns, OR., travel west on US Highway 20 to the junction with County Road 127. Follow County Road 127 approximately 23 miles to the junction with Forest Road 43. Follow Forest Road 43 approximately 8.5 miles, the road leading to the campground will be on the left. The campground will be at the end of the drive.
This campground offers visitors the chance for a quiet family-friendly get away. Set along Emigrant Creek the campground is an excellent spot for those who want to fish or just relax.
