Big Creek campground sits at the edge of beautiful Logan Valley along Big Creek and is a great starting point for multiple recreation opportunities, including mountain biking, hiking, stream fishing, hunting and bird watching. In the spring and early summer the area is exceptional for wildflower viewing.

Current Conditions: 12/15/2014: Big Creek Campground can accommodate a 30' trailer with vehicle. The campground does not close during the winter months.  However the campground is only reachable via snowmobile, ski or snowshoe.  Visitors should be prepared for snow, and rapidly changing weather conditions.

General Information

Directions:

Off of Highway 26, in the town of Prairie City, OR.  turn onto Bridge Street.  Follow Bridge Street up and over a hill, this road will become County Road 62.  Follow County Road 62 approximately 19 miles to the junction with Forest Road 16.  Turn West onto Forest Road 16, follow for approximately 6 miles will be on the right.


General Notes:

During the winter months, due to deep snow levels, Big Creek Campground becomes accessible by snowmobile, ski or snowshoe.  Passenger vehicles cannot reach the area.  This area is part of a network of snowmobile trails, and a great place to stop for a break from a trail ride. 


Accessibility:

Sites have extended length picnic tables, packed gravel surfaces leading to the restrooms.  Restrooms have packed gravel leading to concrete pads to the entry.
