Upper Six Mile Ponds Campground

Area Status: Unreachable

Upper Six Mile Ponds Campground is just ten miles from Sterling, Utah at an elevation of 8,400 feet. A mixed forest of spruce, pinyon, juniper, fir, and aspen covers the area, offering partial shade. Summer wildflowers and wildlife are abundant. Canoeing and fishing for trout are popular at the ponds.

5 single sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets are provided.

Access from the town of Sterling on Forest Road #047 is rough, 4 wheel drive recommended, no trailers.  Even though the campground is 20 miles from the town of Mayfield, Twelve Mile Cyn Road is a better gravel road and you will get to there faster.

The surrounding area is a haven for ATV enthusiasts. Several trails crisscross the region, making up part of the 350+ miles of the exciting Arapeen OHV Trail System.  Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are popular in the area as well
