Dumont Lake Campground
Dumont Lake Campground is 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs, just minutes off of U.S. Highway 40 (Rabbit Ears Pass) between the towns of Steamboat Springs and Kremmling.
The campground is made up of 22 sites and are combination of pull-through and back-in sites
(17 are reservable through recreation.gov and 6 sites are first come basis.)
The actual lake is located at the Picnic Area, and is seperate from the campground however is walkable. Many sites have a view of the meadow surrounding the lake.
The lake is restricted to electric motors or hand-propelled boats only.
The campground has vault toilets, picnic tables and firegrates. *Currently there is no drinking water available, campers must pack water in.
Activities include fishing, boating, hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking at or near the lake. (Note, E-bikes are only allowed on designated Motorized Trails and Forest Service Roads only.)
Dumont Lake is restricted to electric motors or hand propelled boats only. You can spin or fly fish in the lake and the stream for trout.
The area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, offering spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges.
Bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will find this area a paradise.
Visitors wishing to hike a scenic trail can reach the two-mile Rabbit Ears Trail from the campground and the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail just a short drive away.
Since the area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, the views of mountain ranges are spectacular with all of the wildflowers.

Directions:From Steamboat Springs, CO, travel 22 miles southeast on U.S. Highway 40/Rabbit Ears Pass. Turn left on Forest Road 315 at the Dumont Campground sign. The campground is located about a mile from the highway.
