Vedauwoo Picnic Sites

Area Status: Open

This is a great place to stop just minutes off of I-80. Picnic tables, vault toilets, and trash services are available. Vedauwoo rock climbing is within a few steps of the picnic ground. There are two different picnic areas located in the area, Box Canyon and Beaver Ponds.

One area is called Box Canyon, located at the base of Turtle Rock. It is located in the middle of the recreation area next to the Vedauwoo Gazebo. There is a medium sized paved parking lot, with a paved path to the picnic areas. The picnic areas are spread out along this paved path in the middle of rock formations. Offers access to both the East and West Turtle Rock trailheads.

The second picnic area is called Beaver Ponds, and it is located on the eastern edge of the Vedauwoo recreation area. Go past the tent only campground. Near the East Turtle Rock Trailhead. Many day use sites spread out along the road.
