Six Mile Gap Campground is 2 miles off State Highway 230 and provides easy access to the North Platte River and Platte River Wilderness. The campground is a popular spot for river floaters, anglers, and hikers. Campground facilities include: picnic tables, toilets, drinking water, fire grates, trash service and trailhead parking. There is a 14 day stay limit. Popular activities near this campground include floating the North Platte River and the Platte River Trail.

From Encampment take Highway 230 southeast for approximately 27 miles to Forest Road #492. Turn left onto 492 and travel two miles to Six Mile Campground.
