Pacific Crest Trail 2000 Stevens Pass S

Head south on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail from Stevens Pass by climbing steadily through the ski area to the ridgeline at 5,160 feet and then dropping east to the power line clear-cut. Go past Mig Lake in 3.5 miles to the intersection of Tunnel Creek Trail 1061 at Hope Lake. Continue 5.7 miles past Trap Lake, cross over Trap Pass at 5,800 feet to a junction with spur trail 1060.1 to Surprise Lake.

Continue 1.3 miles for a view of Surprise Lake below and the trail intersects with the end of Surprise Creek Trail 1060. Head back south past Glacier Lake, climb around Surprise Mountain over Pieper Pass and drop down to Deception Lakes within a span of 4.2 miles. Deception Lakes is your best bet for good fishing. In another 0.4 miles, come to the junction with spur trail 1059.2 that leads to Deception Creek Trail 1059.

After a final three miles to Deception Pass, the PCT leaves the Skykomish Ranger District of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and enters Cle Elum Ranger District of the Wenatchee National Forest. The trail intersects here with three others: the end of Deception Creek 1059, Lake Clarice Trail 1066, and Deception Pass Trail 1376. The PCT remains in Alpine Lakes Wilderness the entire distance to Snoqualmie Pass and wilderness regulations apply.
