Pass Creek Trail 1053

The trail begins about 3 miles up the North Fork Skykomish Trail 1051 and climbs gently following Pass Creek eastward for 3.5 miles until it ends at the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail 2000 (PCT) on the north side of the Skykomish Ranger District, west of the Cascade crest. You will pass through Henry M. Jackson Wilderness on the North Fork Skykomish Trail.

This trail offers an easy access point to the Pacific Crest Trail and provides opportunities for longer loop hikes open to stock when conditions permit. It is also a good hike for those wishing to avoid crowds while enjoying the forest and open meadows. There are several water crossings that can be challenging in early season run-off. A highlight of this trail is a long wooden boardwalk constructed by the Youth Conservation Corps that crosses through a spectacular meadow wetland.

Note: Fording the North Fork of the Skykomish and Pass Creek may be difficult during early season snowmelt runoff.

From Pass Creek Trail take a popular 16.7-mile loop trip by following the North Fork Skykomish to Pass Creek to the Pacific Crest Trail. Then head south to the PCT’s intersection with  West Cady Ridge Trail 1054. Take West Cady Ridge back to the North Fork Skykomish Trailhead on Forest Service Road 63.
