Wild Goose Trail #684.3


The Wild Goose Trail travels through the entire Heather Meadows (area is unavailable) area, providing access to other trails, the Austin Pass picnic area and the Heather Meadows Visitor Center. The northern (lower) section of the Wild Goose Trail leads from  Bagley Lakes Trailhead at the upper ski area parking lot to Austin Pass Picnic Area. The southern (upper) section begins just beyond the picnic area at Terminal Lake and climbs uphill to Artist Point. Wild Goose reassurance markers embedded in rock cairns help lead hikers through sections of the trail.

Restrictions: Hikers only. No camping. No fires, except self-contained, carry-in stoves. No snowmobiles. Dogs must be leashed within the developed recreation area of Heather Meadows.

Restroom: Vault toilets at Artist Point, Austin Pass Picnic Area & Heather Meadows Visitor Center parking lot.
Passes: A valid Recreation Pass required at Bagley Lakes Trailhead and Heather Meadows.

Directions:

Travel east approximately 21 miles from the Glacier Public Service Center to the Bagley Lakes Trailhead at the south end of the upper Mt. Baker Ski Area parking lot. The trail can also be accessed from the Heather Meadows Visitor Center, Austin Pass Picnic Area and Artist Point.


Parking:

Over 200 parking spaces, including spaces for RVs and buses.
