Norse Peak View Trail 1191.1

Hikers seeking alpine scenery with panoramic views and patches of wildflowers won't be disappointed. In the summer be prepared for dust, biting flies and carry extra water for this is a dry trail.

Norse Peak View trail is a spur off of the Norse Peak Trail that takes you to the summit of Norse Peak and a former lookout site. Its about 4 miles to the trail junction from the trailhead to the Norse Peak View Trail. The view spur trail climbs about 700 feet from the junction to the summit. Total elevation gain from the trailhead is about 3,000 feet. The Norse Peak Lookout was built in the 1930s and removed in 1956. On a clear day see views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount Stuart, Glacier Peak, Mount Baker and the Olympics.

The Norse Peak View Spur trail enters Norse Peak Wilderness after .3 miles. At mile 0.5 is the peak and at mile .7 the junction with Pacific Crest Trail 2000.

Directions:

Access from Halfcamp Trailhead.

From Enumclaw, drive east on State Highway 410 for 33.1 miles to the Crystal Mountain Road (Forest Service road 7190). Turn left onto the Crystal Mountain Road and follow 4.2 miles. Park on the right side of the road and walk 500 feet up Forest Service road 7190410 to trailhead on left.

Follow Norse Peak Trail #1191 for 4.0 miles to junction with Norse Peak View Trail.
