Lookout Mountain Trail #450
This more difficult 3.9 mile trail is in the northern portion of the Barlow Ranger District. The trail is popular for mountain biking and the trail goes through several small, open meadows and follows the Eightmile Creek. It is a primitive single track trail with some steep grades. Trail connects with Fifteenmile Trail. Sections of this trail are maintained by the 44 Trails Association.
This trail starts at Bottle Prairie at Dufur Mill Road (Forest Road 44) and ends at Forest Road 4420. From Bottle Prairie, the trail follows Eightmile Creek for 2.3 miles to Eightmile Meadow/Jct. of Trail 456. From Eightmile Meadow, the trail heads south of Eightmile Creek. 0.5 mile past Eightmile Meadow, the trail intersects Forest Road 4420-161 for the first time, and again after another 0.3 mile. The trail ends at Forest Road 4420.
Trail maintenance is accomplished thanks to the help of the 44 Trails Association.

General Information
Directions:From Hood River, OR to the north end of the trail, take OR Hwy 35 south 26 miles, approximately 0.15 mile past milepost 71, to Dufur Mill Road (Forest Road 44). Turn left (east) on Forest Road 44 and travel 7.7 miles, 300’ east of Rail Hollow Road (Forest Road 4400-120), and park in the pullout. The trail starts on the south side of Dufur Mill Road.
From Dufur, OR to the north end of the trail, go west on Dufur Mill Road (Forest Road 44) for 17 miles and follow the directions above to the parking area.
