This little used trail runs through the southeastern portion of the Badger Creek Wilderness. There are backpacking and loop options available from this trail.  This is a nice trail for solitude. This trail goes through some old growth Pondarosa pine and oak groves and some nice rock outcroppings.

This trail begins at Forest Road 27 and ends at Road 2730-200(Flag Pt. Road).  Beginning at Forest Road 27 (2,550’) the trail heads northwest following Tygh Creek for 0.4 mile (2,640’).  The trail heads north, away from the creek, then climbs northwest and after 0.8 mile, passes Pen Point to the north (3,880’).  Leaving Pen Point the trail climbs a steeper grade to the junction with Jordan Cutoff Trail #462 (4,320’).  Stay left on #460 heading west and continue 3.2 miles further to the trails end at the junction with the west end of Little Badger Trail #469 at FS rd. 2730-200 Flag Point Rd. (5,450’).

General Information


From Dufur, OR travel south on US Hwy 197 for 13.8 miles to Shadybrook Road at Tygh Valley.  Turn right onto Shadybrook and travel 1.1 miles to Fairgrounds Road. Travel 0.6 mile on Fairgrounds Road to Badger Creek Road.  Travel 6.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Road 27.  Travel 2.8 miles on Forest Road 27 to the small parking area on the left (west) side of the road, just north of Tygh Creek.
