Ditch Creek Trail #507

Ditch Creek Trail #507 begins at Ditch Creek campground on Red River Road #234. From the trailhead, the trail switchbacks steeply, gains 200 feet in elevation, levels out, and meanders in and out of the side draws that drain into Ditch Creek. The trail drops alongside the creek again at the Pasadena mining claim. Passing a dwelling and a ball mill, the trail crosses the creek twice on bridges, then veers to the right just before the third bridge, and continues in a northerly direction. Threading through lodgepole stands and two timber cutting units, the trail leaves the creek and climbs to its highest point, 5350 feet in elevation. This marks the divide between Ditch Creek and Siegel Creek drainages. The trail crosses this timbered ridge, crosses Road #1189, and begins a descent of two miles to the banks of Little Siegel Creek. The trail follows Little Siegel Creek, fording three times, and ends at the American Eagle Mine.
