Wine Springs Loop TR 379A


Located at Wine Spring Horse Camp off Forest Service Rd 711.  Wine Springs Loop TR 379A is 7.5 miles long and showcases some unique features.  the trail crosses Goat Bald at 4,800 feet elevation.  Goat Bald is a large wildlife field that offers a spectacular view.  Looking to the west, parts of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Chilhowee Mountains in Tennessee are visible.

Be aware that portions of the trail are located on forest Service system roads and may have periodic administrative traffic and logging truck traffic.

Directions:

From Franklin:  Take US 64W and turn right at the Wayah Bald directional sign.  Immediately turn left at Loafer's Glory stor onto Wayah Road (SR1310).  Stay on Wayah Road for approximately 10 miles and turn right onto Forest Service Road 711.  Continue 4.5 miles to the Wine Spring Horse Camp.
