Canebrake Horse Camp has 28 sites with parking spurs for horse trailers. Four of these sites are double camp sites. Each site has a picnic table, grill, fire ring, lantern post, tie posts and electrical hookups. Up to two vehicles are allowed at each site.
The camp also provides water spigots for drinking water, showers, and flush toilets. Electric hookups available, but no water/sewer hookups at each site. A sewage dump station and a horse washing rack are centrally located.
The Equestrian Trail System can be accessed from Canebrake using the Home Trail, which skirts the campground. There are approximately 40 miles of horse trails, ranging in difficulty from easy to more difficult.
Opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, hunting, picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and OHV trail use are available while staying at the campground.

Reservations can be made by going to www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777 or TDD 1-877-833-6777. Reservations need to be made atleast 3 days in advance or can be made up to 240 days in advance. We do not make reservations at the office.
The fee for single sites are $15 per night, double sites (#16, #19, #21 and #25) are $30 per night. Sites #9 and #22 are first come first serve only and cannot be reserved. Discount with Senior or Access Passes for Single Sites = $6 campsite fee + $3 electrical surcharge = $9 total; For Double Sites = $12 campsite fee + $6 electrical surcharge = $18 total. These fees do not change if you do not use the electricity, you must pay the electrical surcharge on all campsites. Cash or check can be used to pay for the sites, make checks out to USDA Forest Service. There is a campground host available on site #20.

Directions: From Troy, travel on NC 109N for 10 miles and turn left onto Mullinix Road (NC 1154). Follow Mullinix Road for about 2 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right at "T" and travel about one-quarter mile to the campground on the right.
