Belding Trail #52

The Belding Trail starts at a suspension bridge over the Cheoah River just off Route 129 in northern Graham County, and runs generally uphill to terminate at Yellow Hammer Gap, a junction with the Hangover Lead and Tapoco trails.    Generally following an old road, this trail is used by fishermen to access Deep Creek and other small streams in the area.  At several locations, the Belding Trail follows existing Forest Service Roads for short distances.  The crossings at Deep Creek and Bear Creek are “wet” crossings, requiring wading generally.
