Maple Springs Trail #71


The Maple Springs Accessible Trail is a short walk to a wooden lookout point, with a great view to the north, east and south, with the western end of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the middle of the viewshed.  The Yellow Creek Mountains, Wauchacha, Cheoah  and Joanna Balds are very prominent, as well as the Cheoah River valley in the foreground. 

This viewpoint is accessed off the Joyce Kilmer Road by following SR 1127 to its end, then walking the boardwalk to the raised viewing platform.

Trail Length: 0.2 Miles

Difficulty: Easy

Usage: Moderate

Average Hiking Times: 30 minutes round trip.
