Balsam Lake and Picnic Area


Recreation Day Use Area near the 8-acre Balsam lake offering fishing piers, 1/2 mile hiking trail, picnic shelter and vault toilet. Non-motorized boats are permitted. The fishing piers, trail and toilet are accessible.

General Information

Directions: From Sylva or Cashiers go south from Sylva or morth from Cashiers on NC 107 to Tuckaseegee Post Ofice. Turn east onto NC 281. Go 9.2 miles to Little Canada. Turn left on SR 1756 (Charlie's Creek Road). Continue approximately 6 miles passing the Balsam Lake Lodge entrance to the Day use area on the right.
