Big Bass campsite

Tent and RV camping on the south edge of the Ocala National Forest, not far from the Ocklawaha River via CR 42. Open seasonally, Oct 15 - Apr 15; with 19 sites.

Pets: Dogs are welcome on the forest, but are required to be on a leash at all times. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at swimming areas. For more information, please contact Lake George Ranger Station at 352-625-2520.

Restrictions: All Ocala National Forest campgrounds allow pets, but they must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet and are not permitted in designated swimming and picnicking areas.
Closest Towns: Weirsdale, Altoona, and Eustis, via SR 42.

General Information


8.7 miles east of Weirsdale along CR 42; turn off of CR 42 onto FR 13. Watch for the sign on the left after you pass "Buck & Doe's" store.
