Rimrock Springs Trailhead

This trailhead is located just off of Highway 26 and provides access to Rimrock Springs Trail (#850), which gives visitors an opportunity for wildlife and nature viewing. The trail is ADA accessible and short, so it's perfect for stretching out your legs and getting some fresh air.  There are also picnic tables at the site for anyone who enjoys eating outdoors.

General Information

Directions:

From Madras, Oregon:

Take Highway 26 south for approximately 9 miles.

Rimrock Springs Trailhead will be on your left.

From Prineville, Oregon:

Take Highway 26 north for approximately 18 miles.

Rimrock Springs Trailhead will be on your right.


Parking:

The parking area is a wide pull-through style lot, which can accommodate many cars of every size, as well as vehicles with trailers.  The parking lot may be entered from either the North or the South so be sure to watch for opposing traffic when entering and exiting the site.

Picnicking

This trailhead has picnic tables just adjacent to the parking area from which some nature and wildlife viewing can be done.

Amenities

Picnic tables: There are a few picnic tables in the Day Use area.
Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot, and can accommodate a variety of vehicle sizes.
Accessible: The trail is paved to the viewing platform.
