American Ridge Trail #958


This long trail within William O. Douglas Wilderness offers solitude.  This trail climbs  southwest along many ridges with the final section accessing the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.Water and horse feed is scarce at east end, then more plentiful.

General Information


From Olympia, WA take I-5 S for 36.6 miles and take exit 68 for US-12 E toward Morton/​Yakima. travel .5 miles and turn left on US-12 E and continue for 119 miles. Then turn left onto WA-410 W and drive 27.9 miles to Bumping River Road (Forest Road 1800) and turn left. travel .7 miles to the trailhead.
