Bumping Lake Trail #971


This trail accesses William O Douglas Wilderness. The trail crosses into the Wilderness and travels south to access the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail at Fish Lake.  Creek crossings can be potentially difficult in early season.

General Information


No facilities.  Trailhead is located in summer home area.  Respect private ownership.  Parking for one horse trailer and four cars.


From Packwood, WA go east on US-12 for 54 miles. Turn left on state highway 410 W and travel 30 miles. Turn left on Bumping river Road (Forest Road 1800). Follow Bumping Road 1800 to spur road 394 which crosses Bumping Reservoir dam. Drive slowly pass Bumping Lake Marina and summer homes to end of road, Bumping Lake Trailhead.
