Chinook Pass Overlook Trailhead


Provides access to: Pacific Crest Trail east of Mt. Rainier National Park, south of Norse Peak Wilderness and north of William O. Douglas Wilderness.

Chinook Pass summit east of Mt. Rainier Park entrance on State Route 410.

General Information


Parking, toilets, stock ramp.  Parking can be crowded as this is a National Scenic trailhead and is very popular for day use.  Overflow parking east of highway. (First 15 minutes free then $5/vehicle/day.)


From Packwood, WA take US-12 east for 7.6 miles. Then take WA-123 north (road may seasonally be closed) for 16.3 miles then take WA- 410 east (road may seasonally be closed) and follow 3.5 miles.
