Smithbrook Trail #1590


This heavily used short trail climbs to Union Gap and a junction with the Pacific Crest Trail #2000 which enters Henry M. Jackson Wilderness. Smithbrook Trail is 0.9 miles long and is heavily used by hikers. It starts at the Smithbrook Trailhead and steadily switchbacks through old-growth forest to Union Gap. The top of the trail may be snow-covered and difficult-to-follow, depending on the season.

Directions:

The trail begins at the Smithbrook Trailhead located 3 miles Smithbrook Road #6700 from Highway 2.

From Leavenworth, WA take US-2 northwest for 31 miles. Then turn right on Smithbrook Road, Forest Road #6700, and travel 3 miles to the trailhead.

The Smithbrook Trailhead is not recommended for stock trucks or stock trailers. The trailhead at Stevens Pass provides better parking for stock users accessing the Pacific Crest Trail #2000.
