Badlands Trail #1576
The Badlands Trail is 5.0 miles long and is used by hikers and stock users. The trail begins 3 miles up Hatchery Creek Trail #1577, and ends at Painter Creek Trail #1575. From the junction with the Hatchery Creek Trail at about 5300 feet in elevation, the trail climbs to 6200 feet, then switchbacks down from the ridge to a signed junction with the Painter Creek Trail at 5200 feet. This trail within Alpine Lakes Wilderness has steep grades and good views of the Cascade Range. Water is scarce.
