West Fork Buttermilk Trail #411
This 9.5 mile forested trail is within Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness climbs to 7,480 feet at Fish Creek Pass where it connects with Fish Creek Trail #1248. Opportunities to climb nearby Star and Courtney Peaks. Star Lake is just beyond the pass.
Specific Difficulties: The trail crosses a marshy area that may be difficult for stock. Several stream fords along the route can also run high into July. Limited camping.

General Information
Directions:From Twisp, drive 11 miles west on Twisp River Road (county road 9114), turn left and cross Buttermilk Bridge, stay on the left fork. The East Fork Buttermilk Road becomes forest service Buttermilk Creek Road 43, go about 4 miles and turn right onto forest service road #4300-500, and follow road for about 3 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road.
