Summer Blossom Trail #1258
The Summer Blossom Trail begins at Grade Creek Road #8200 and ends at Deadman's Pass. The trail is open only to foot traffic and has a few steep grades. This is an excellent trail for viewing Sawtooth high country. The trail is an old sheepherders route through the basin of Summer Blossom, arriving near the summit of North Navarre Peak 7,963 feet elevation. The peak offers outstanding views from the snowy Cascades to the vast semi-arid plains of the Columbia Plateau. Appreciate the Civilian Conservation Corps trail work (rock cribbing) as you hike the ridge down to the junction with the Summit Trail, at the East Fork Prince Creek switchbacks. The trail has a few steep grades and the tread is light in some spots, due to low use. Water should be carried, but there are possible camping areas after 1.5 miles. This trail is maintained annually.
