Alder Ridge ORV Trail #1523


CLOSED DUE TO WILDFIRE

This trail has a seasonal closure to horses, motorbikes and mountain bikes mid-October through mid-July.

This trail provides access to Entiat Ridge and the Mad Lake area. It is maintained primarily for motorcycles and mountain bikes.The trail follows Forest Road #6208-160 through Department of Natural Resources land for 1 mile.

The annual seasonal closure is to protect natural resources, minimize damage to trails, and maintain quality trail systems. The seasonal closure protects trails from damage caused by wheeled and stock travel on muddy trails. When closed, the trails are open to hikers only. Trails are usually opened to wheeled and stock travel in mid July.

Restrictions: ATVs are prohibited. Seasonal closure for stock, mountain bikes, and motorcycles beyond Faultline Road #6104. Use certified weed-free or commercially processed stock feed only.   The Upper Mad River Seasonal Closure goes into effect when posted in October due to wet and muddy trail conditions.  Trails are closed to motorcycles, mountain bikes, and stock until posted open in the summer.  The closure applies to all users but hikers.

Passes: A valid Recreation Pass is required at Alder Ridge Trailhead.

Directions:

 The trail begins at the Alder Ridge ORV Trailhead located 7 miles up the Chiwawa Valley Road #6200. The trail ends at the Upper Mad River Trail #1509.
