Waptus Pass Trail #1329


The Waptus Pass Trail begins at Waptus River Trail #1310 and ends at Pete Lake Trail #1323.

This trail connects Pete Lake Trail No. 1323 with the Waptus River Trail No. 1310. It climbs steeply from both ends at Pete Lake and Waptus Lake to reach Waptus Pass. Waptus Pass is not a high alpine pass but a broad parkland of meadows and subalpine forest. The trail passes junctions with the Escondido Lake Trail No. 1320, Waptus Burn Trail No. 1329.3, and Polallie Ridge Trail No. 1309 enroute.

SETTING: Old-growth forest, meadow, creek valley, river, lake.
