Dry Creek Trail #872
This trail follows the shore of Lake Cushman and is flat for 1.4 miles then turns and begins to climb to a junction with a lake access trail. The trail then follows an abandoned/overgrown road to a campsite near the Dry Creek crossing. After the crossing, the trail bears right and climbs steeply before entering an old growth forest. The trail continues to climb to the pass between Dry Mountain and Prospect Ridge. At this point the trail levels out, then descends to Forest Service Road #2352-200. This trail is considered easy along the shore of Lake Cushman but then becomes difficult due to steep grades.
This trail is steep to flat and extends 8.25 miles from the Dry Creek Trailhead (West access) on Forest Service Road #2353-200 to Dry Creek (East) Trailhead near Lake Cushman.

Directions:Dry Creek Trailhead (East access)
From Hoodsport, WA turn onto State Route 119 off of Highway 101. Follow State Route 119 for 9.0 miles to the junction with Forest Road 24. Turn left and travel 6 miles to Forest Service Road 2451. Turn left at the causeway and park without blocking the gate. Drive over the causeway bridge and the trailhead is located about 150 feet past the bridge on the left.
Dry Creek Trailhead (West access)
Alert: 4WD high clearance vehicle is required to drive up Forrest Service Road 2353.
From Shelton, WA take US Highway 101 for 6 miles north. Then turn west onto the Skokomish Valley Road. Follow Skokomish Valley Road for about 8 miles to the forest boundary. Continue on Forest Service Road 23 for another 8 miles. Stay right on Forest Service Road 2353 drive past Lebar Horse Camp and stay left at fork and continue on Forest Road 2353 to the #2355 junction.Veer right to stay on the 2353 road and travel about 3 miles to the Forest Road #2353-200 spur. Turn left onto the spur and drive about 1 mile to the Dry Creek Trailhead.

From the lower trailhead near Lake Cushman:
Once you leave the road, you continue through private land for another .25 mile. Please stay on the trail while traveling this section of trail. Old growth forest starts approximately 4.0 miles up Dry Creek.
