Blue Mountain and others from the Slab Camp Trail

This 3.1 mile forested trail within the northern area of Buckhorn Wilderness follows Slab Camp Creek to Gray Wolf River where it connects to the  Gray Wolf Trail #834.2 - Upper and follows it 5.8 miles to the Olympic National Park boundary.

Alert! Stock users should use extreme caution when fording river with stock.

Current Conditions: Users are unable to access the lower portion of Gray Wolf Trail #834 due to a slide about 1 mile north of the Slab Camp junction with the Gray Wolf Trail.
    Permit Info: Permits are required for all overnight trips into the Olympic National Park backcountry.

    River and Stream Fishing

    Fishing in the Gray Wolf River.

    Day Hiking

    Grades from 0 to 30%. The first segment of the trail is flat. Then it drops steeply, descending to canyon floor and the Gray Wolf River.

    Backpacking

    Two riverside camps are at Duncan Flat on north side of river. See also: day hiking description.

    Horse Riding
