Sparrow Rapids Campground provides visitors with an opportunity to be near a wilderness and a Wild/Recreation River at the same time. This campgrouind has six campsites that can accomodate tents, trailers, and motor homes. It is a limited service campground.

Directions:From Kenton take FH 16 north 1/4 mile to FR 1100. Turn left onto FR 1100 and travel northwest for 3 miles to the campground.

River and Stream Fishing
East Branch Ontonagon River. This river can be accessed from the Picnic area at the intersection of M-28 and FH 16 in Kenton or from the Sparrow Rapids Campground. To get to the campground from Kenton take FH 16 north 1/4 mile, turn left onto FR 1100. Take FR 1100 northwest for 3 miles to the campground.

Day Hiking
Davidson Lakes Hunter Trail is a loop trail, approximately 8 1/2 miles long. The trail can be made shorter by taking different branches. The Trail takes you through pine and northern hardwood forest on rolling sandy ground. There are several lakes and ponds to be seen along the trail. Difficulty of walking is between easy and medium. Boating - Non-Motorized
East Branch Ontonagon River provides 15.5 miles of floatable/Canoeable river(Onion Creek to Middle Branch). Access to river can be gained at the bridge on Gardner Road 1 1/4 miles SW of FR 1180, which is 8 miles south of Mass City, MI; Bridge 5.5 miles south of Mass City (gauging station); Military Bridge on Highway US45 (Roadside Park) which is 11 miles north of Bruce Crossing, MI. Low flow or other hazards causes this river to be only canoeable in the northern-most portions of the forest. The remaining sections are impassable due to down trees, beaver dams, thick vegetation and long rock stretches.
