Henry Lake Campground

  

Campsite on Henry Lake

Located in Gogebic County 9 miles southwest of the town of Marenisco, Mi., on the Bessemer Ranger District in the southern half of the Ottawa National Forest. Henry Lake Campground is a single loop campground with 11 campsites that are spaced with natural vegetation for screening. Henry Lake Campground provides drive-in sites that can accommodate tents, trailers, and motor homes. Each site offers an accessible wood table, fire ring and parking spur. Two single vault toilets are located near the fee station, while water is provided in the camping loop.  Located adjacent to the campground is a boat landing, an accessible toilet, and a trail to an accessible fishing pier providing access to a variety of game fish.

General Information

Directions:

From Bessemer, Mi., travel east on US 2 approximately 13 miles and turn right (south) onto Dunham Road, travel approximately 3 miles and turn right (south) onto FR 8100, travel approximately 4 ½ miles to the campground.

From Watersmeet, Mi., travel west on US 2 approximately 28 miles and turn left onto M 64, travel approximately 3 1/2 miles and turn right onto FR 8300, travel approximately 5 miles and turn left onto FR 8100, travel approximately 3 miles to the campground.

Campground Camping

Henry Lake Campground is a single loop campground with 11 campsites that are widely spaced with natural vegetation for screening, providing an excellent chance for privacy and solitude. Henry Lake Campground provides drive-in sites that can accommodate tents, trailers, and motor homes. Each site offers a tent pad, an accessible wood table, fire ring and parking spur. Two single vault toilet facilities are located in the camping loop, while water is provided at one centrally located hand pump. Located adjacent to the campground is a boat landing, an accessible toilet and fishing pier which provides access to a variety of game fish.

The campground is scheduled to open with full services the Friday before Memorial Day.  This date is subject to change, please contact the Bessemer Ranger District at 906-932-1330 for additional information.
