Duck/Hum Lake Trailhead (#085 & #082)
The Duck Lake/Hum Lake Trailhead provides access to the Twenty Mile Trail #085 and Hum Lake Trail #082 from Lick Creek Road. The hike to Duck Lake is just under 1.5 miles one way and reasonable for a wide range of ability levels. It does entrail two small stream crossings. At Duck Lake you'll find several dispersed camping sites.
The Hum Lake Trail #082 departs from the Twenty Mile Trail #085 in route to Duck Lake about one mile from the trailhead. Reaching Hum Lake requires a steep climb to approximately 7,800' and a descent of 1,000' down to the lake shore. This elevation gain (and loss) will be replicated on the return trip. Adventurous hikers will be rewarded with great views of both lakes typically only enjoyed by mountain goats and a handful of hardy hikers.
The Twenty Mile Trail #085 is open to two-wheel motorized use while the Hum Lake Trail #082 is designated non-motorized.
The trailhead includes a vault toilet, hitching rails, and stock unloading ramp.
