Horse Campground is open for the 2015 camping season. Sites are available for reservation on www.recreation.gov at $23/night.

Sites are available on a first come, first served basis in campgrounds available for reservation through www.recreation.gov. Campers without reservations will be required to find a new site if the site they occupy on a first-come basis is reserved. Site availability is not guaranteed.

The Lakeshore trail provides hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding opportunities around the lake. The southern portion of the trail drops below the high water mark in order to avoid crossing private land. Horseback riding is permitted on the northern portion of the Lakeshore trail only.
A portion of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) near Chimney Rock and Fowler Peak can be accessed from the Lakeshore trail. The Bald Mt. - PCT tie trailhead is located at the entrance to Horse Camp.
