This boulder-strewn group reservation site is located in a ponderosa pine forest and away from other developed recreation sites. The trees are thinly spaced in some areas which facilitates group activities, RV parking (RVs not exceeding 40 feet in length), and camping.

From Prescott take the Senator Highway (Mt. Vernon Avenue) south for about 6 miles. You will pass the entrance to Goldwater Lake and the community of Groom Creek. The pavement will end about 500 feet before you reach Forest Road 97. Turn right onto Forest Road 97 and travel for another 0.75 miles to the group campground on the right of the road. Forest Road 97 is unpaved but is suitable for all vehicles during dry road conditions.
An alternate route from Prescott is to take U.S. Highway 89 (White Spar Road) south for about 6 miles to Forest Road 97. Turn left on Forest Road 97 and go for another 5.5 miles to the campground.
Road conditions are paved, and dirt (site is not paved).
Secluded from other camp sites, Upper Wolf Creek Group Campground offers an ideal location for large groups to camp. The central gathering area includes picnic tables, charcoal grills, a large fire ring, a sports court with a net, and a horseshoe pit, all located near the restrooms. Numerous scattered tent sites offer privacy for those wishing to camp at a distance from the crowd.
