Mogote - Juniper Group Camping Site


Area Status: Closed

The group area campground, among Ponderosa, Aspen, Spruce, Cottonwoods and juniper trees, has a capacity of up to 100 people. It is a short walk to the fast-moving Conejos River. This is a pleasant and attractive campground that is excellent for large groups the area can accommodate several RV's as well as tents. Picnic tables are fairly well-shaded. This campground is by reservation only. Consider a day trip on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad (steam) which offers a 64-mile journey through abandoned mining towns. One access to the train is in Antonito, CO, online Cumbres-Toltec Scenic Railroad or call (719) 376-5483 for more information and reservations.

General Information

Directions: From Antonito, CO, take US 285 south 0.3 miles to Hwy 17. Continue straight on Hwy 17 and go 13.2 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.3 miles to campground on left.
